GQ, People and LA Times: Adult Pajamas are Spring's Hottest Fashion Trend
Share

In March, the Los Angeles Times, People Magazine and GQ all ran stories about the hottest Spring 2016 fashion trend: pajamas for adults.
Don't take our word for it. In an article titled, "Forget athleisure and think pajamas: Spring's big fashion trend is sleepover chic, the LA Times recently wrote, "Pajama dressing is poised to be spring's biggest trend, and it may have the power to dethrone athleisure as the most easy-to-wear style."
Already, celebrities and fashion icons like Jessica Alba, Whiz Khalifa, Zoe Kravitz and Naomi Campbell have been photographed out on the town in their finest pajamas for adults, which have also been popping up in a number of high fashion designers' spring collections.
You have to admit, sleepover chic makes sense, whether it's a $5,000 Dolce and Gabana silk nightgown or fun and cozy footed pajamas for adults. Today, four in 10 of us fail to get the recommended 8.5 hours of sleep at night, but people who wear pajamas are always ready for a power nap when needed. And, of course, adult pajamas are super comfortable for any body type.
"Pajama pants are a lot more forgiving than leggings," explained Salvador Perez, an LA-based costume designer for "The Mindy Project." "Pajama pants don't care if you had a burger for lunch. Leggings will judge you, harshly."
If you're thinking about getting in on this spring celebrity fashion trend, then here's a reference point for you: medium sized pajamas for adults are generally a good fit for someone up to 5-feet 9-inches tall and up to 180 pounds. For men and womens sleepwear, you can generally expect 7% of overall washer-dryer shrinkage, so shop for your onesie pajamas for adults accordingly.
